As a home environment and installation space we keep selections of artworks by various artists on display during our exhibitions periods. These change with time as different home installations develop and the artworks converse with each other. This page is dedicated to artworks we have on display now & you’re welcome to visit at Darling’s Attic. Integrated within our current exhibition MonAI LisAI by Systaime (24 May – 1 August 2024) with the aim of furthering discussions that are pertinent to this new body of work. As a multi-media & multi-platform show, Systaime plays with the character of the Mona Lisa as a dramatic persona who maybe owns the attic flat or hides at it.

The original painting by Leonardo da Vinci was painted in the beginning of the 1500s and has been traditionally considered to depict the Italian noblewoman Lisa del Giocondo. Many theories have emerged with time including that the Mona Lisa is actually a self portrait of the artist himself or of his suspected lover Gian Giacomo Caprotti, also known as Salai. “This theory is heavily supported by Silvano Vinceti, the head of the National Committee for Cultural Heritage, who found striking similarities when comparing infra-red scans to other works depicting Salai.” – https://medium.com/…/mona-lisa-conspiracy-theories…

As a potential living person who acts at the flat and in virtual environs, a possible entity standing for every woman, a secret self-portrait of the artist or of a potential male lover, all things rather accelerated by the use of AI, this MonAI LisAI is currently displaying the following artworks alongside her many portraits:
